Part Used: Flowers. An herb highly valued since ancient times for infection and suppurating wounds and skin conditions, lymph and blood congestion. Used internally and externally where applicable for many types of bacterial and fungal infections. Skin infections with inflammation. Boils and carbuncles. Swollen glands. Low-grade fevers. Eruptive fevers (i.e.measles, chickenpox). Otitis media. Vaginal discharges and infections. Varicose veins, phlebitis, leg cramps.. Copious menstrual periods. Cysts and tumors of breast, ovaries, colon. Ulcers of the digestive tract. Skin ulcers. Burns, wounds, bruises, sprains, insect bites esp. slow-healing or infected.
