Dear Bob Liebert,
Are there any herbal treatments that will help grow hair? I have been
diagnosed with Alopecia Areata and the treatments they have been prescribing
have caused other reactions. Therefore, I was looking into finding an
herbal remedy.

Dear Friend,
Some of the herbs traditionally used to address hair loss include
silica and mineral rich plants like Horsetail
and Nettles; herbs that aid
capillary circulation (added in smaller doses) like Prickly
Ash and Cayenne. Externally,
hot oil treatment using Olive Oil to which drops of Oil of
Rosemary are added. A Nettles tea hair rinse can be alternated.
Finally, hair loss can be related to hormone imbalance, esp. after the
use of the Pill, for which herbs like Chaste
Berry and Black Haw
are used (see our MNPS Formula).
Yours in healing,
Bob Liebert, herbalist
