Ask the Herbalist

Dear Bob Liebert,

I have a condition with my bladder/ urethra that causes a constant pressure/pain and urge to urinate. I've been seen by three doctors who were unable to help me. A urologist said that this was due to a tightening of my urethra due to stress. The prescription Flomax offers little relief, as well as the doctors "advice". Please advise if you know of anything that will work for my condition.
I've had luck in the past with herbal remedies for yeast infections. Not so much in a tea or tincture but more with drinking liquid acidopholus and cider/acidopholus douches.
I do believe that there is a solution for my problem somewhere. It has been difficult to find any helpful information. The more information I have on natural approaches will surely benefit me the most, the sooner the better.
Thank You!

Jennifer

Dear Friend,

I have seen herbs give much relief in such cases. I would recommend our lquid extracts of ERYNGIUM (pain with stricture with nervous causes) and GRAVEL ROOT (pain, tonic to bladder and urethra). I would start with these, taken 3x a day. CRAMP BARK can be added if spasm continues to be a problem. Chamomile tea would be good to drink often for calming.

Yours in healing,
Bob Liebert, herbalist
