Dear Bob Liebert,
I have a 6 month old baby that still has baby acne. I am currently
nursing him. I understand that tea tree oil is good. But how do I
use it? Is there anything else that you can tell me?
Trina
Dear Friend,
You might look at something in your diet that may be affecting him;
including dairy products, fried foods or other hard-to digest fats,
and other possible factors. However, it is not uncommon and will go
away on its own. Tea Tree Oil I would think would be a little harsh
for a baby's skin. A wash of Calendula tea or the diluted extract
is a mild antiseptic that is healing to the skin. Aloe vera and Chamomile
can be tried. A little Dandelion Root tea or a few drops of the extract
now and then would be a safe internal herb to try.
Yours in healing,
Bob Liebert, herbalist
