Dear Bob Liebert,
My husband had chemotherapy three years ago and has now had to resume
it. Since his third round of chemo three years ago he just has awful
and very painful gas and sometimes vomits up his food because he said
it just doesn't digest. He has had all the major tests done only showed
mild gastritis and that lymph nodes are swollen which is due to the
chronic lymphocidic leukemia. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Dear Friend,
It sounds like your husband has a problem with the stomach being
dilated and digestive organs impaired (a "cold" condition),
in which case the more pungent digestive herbs are used like Sweet
Flag, I have seen it work well in such cases of long-standing digestion
problems, as long as there isn't acute inflammation. At the same time,
such herbs as Milk Thistle, Barberry and/or Dandelion Root are good
bitter digestives that will aid the liver, and other organs set back
by the chemo.
Yours in healing,
Bob Liebert, herbalist
