Dear Bob Liebert,
What can I use or take for a painful neck and shoulder nerve pain
that seems to last for a month. I hurt my neck and arm last year playing
in a swimming pool and carrying people on my back. Anti inflammatory
drugs only give me the lightest relief and the problem keeps returning.
Katie
Dear Friend,
Some of the herbs that aid in neck and shoulder pain are anti-spasmodics
as well as nerve tonics. I would suggest the extracts of Black Cohosh,
St. John's Wort and Skullcap. Lobelia extract can also be rubbed over
areas of pain and over the spine where nerves are linked. You may
also wish to research Cervical Dystonia; such accidents can lead to
a chronic condition such as this and I believe the herbs can prevent
a worsening of symptoms.
Yours in healing,
Bob Liebert, herbalist
