Ask the Herbalist

Dear Bob Liebert,

I am nineteen years of age and worked in a health food store for time time. After researching on many different products and understanding the benefits many of them have on one's health, I'm confused as to what vitamins and herbs I should be taking on a daily basis. Right now I take udo's oil, multivitamin, vitamin c, vitamin e and zinc everyday. I do this because I've read about the positive effects these products have on the immune system and also their effects on the skin - I suffer from dermatitis on a daily basis...I get flaky skin, especially around the eyebrows and forehead, and patches of dry skin around my mouth. So, I would like to know if what I'm taking is a good ensemble for somebody my age with such a skin condition. I would also appreciate any suggestions you have with regards to curing this skin condition - whether it be any topical solutions or internal remedies you might recommend. Thank you very much.

Dear Friend,

I would suggest our Blood Pure Formula with the following herbs that would be helpful in dry, flaky skin conditions: Red Clover, Yellow Dock, Burdock and Echinacea. The vitamins you are taking will help the skin in general, with these herbs aiding the breakdown of toxins as well as having trace elements that benefit the skin. Adding Olive Oil regularly to the diet as well as Flax and/or Evening Primrose Oil will aid in dry skin conditions as well.

Thanks,
Bob

You can buy these herbs and many more in the Formula and Single Herb sections of the Teeter Creek Herb website. Herbs that don't appear in the Formula or Single Herb lists can usually be requested in the "Message" section at the bottom of the order page.
