Dear Bob Liebert,

I have had problems with anxiety and addiction since I was a teenager.I stopped drinking alcohol in 1988. Was completely abstinant for many years.I did use Valereian root and cammomille teas with good effect for IBS and a very stressful life. I am now almost 40 years old, had a sick and unemployed husband, a 3 and 5 year old daughters, I am a nurse working with AIDS patients. My addictions have kicked up again and I just want my clean life back. My main problem is overweight due to depression and low low energy. Also anxiety and short tempered at times.

I am back to 12 step programs, counseling, and exercise, but think I may need more. Please help

Abbie

Dear Friend,

Long-term stress can lead to exhaustion of the adrenal glands with low energy and bouts of anxiety. The Spirit Lift Formula would be a very good start, with the following herbs that would apply to your situation: Green Oat Extract (adrenals, nerve restorative, addictions), St. John's Wort (depression, nerve restorative), American Ginseng (adrenals, energy tonic, depression). Extra St. John's Wort can be added if necessary for depression. Skullcap extract can be added for bouts of anxiety and Valerian extract for a quick calming effect.

Thanks,
Bob
