Dear Bob Liebert,
My dad has chronic leukemia (CMML), & is too weak now for chemo-therapy.
So I plan to offer him Essiac tea, maitake mushroom dishes, &
maybe some skullcap tea w/ pwd. licorice root. He also has some liver
congestion, & I'm giving him carrots (See James Duke's book, The
Green Pharmacy) to help detoxify the liver & other organs.
Any comments? I've just recently discovered your site, & like
your responsible-sounding info. (I plan to order your book on Ozark
herbs.) On Essiac, I'm very familiar w/ sheep sorrel, as I've been
into edible wild plants a long time. I grew up calling sheep sorrel,
"Injun cane," & we used to chew on the flower stalks
while we played outside. Since then, I've used it in salads &
in place of dill pickles on delicious sandwiches. I've read that it
is the cancer-fighting herb in Essiac, & that the other three
herbs are cleansers. But you might be interested to know (I've just
learned; if only I can remember which site! Try Google search of rz
rhei Debu Tripathy, & go to the lef.org site. Also see the Dateline
report on the master herb doctor from Tibet, Yeshi Dhonden -- known
for successful cancer treatments) that scientific research on Chinese
& Tibetan herbs have shown Chinese rhubarb root (rz rhei) to also
fight cancer. So does their species of skullcap: Scutellaria barbatae.
Thanks for your excellent info.
David
Dear Friend,
I believe you are on the right track with the herbs for your father.
I have seen two remarkable remissions in Leukemia using such herbs.
The herbs I was using was an extract of the fresh Maitake (you might
want to try the fresh extract we have, for potency, ease and consistency
in dosing) and a simple formula of Red Root, Yellow Dock and Dandelion
root. I beleieve (and have heard anecdotal evidence of ) the good
effects of the Essiac as an aid as well. Anti-cancer compounds have
been found in a number of the Rheum species. Let me know how things
go.
Thanks,
Bob
You can buy these herbs and many more in the Formula and
Single
Herb sections of the Teeter Creek Herb website. Herbs that don't appear in the Formula or Single Herb lists can usually be requested in the "Message" section at the bottom of the order page.
