Ask the Herbalist

Dear Bob Liebert,

I am plagued by the Athlete's Foot fungus. I get it on my feet, toenails, groin, armpits, neck and back.

Although creams I buy from the pharmacy are very effective they have to be applied specifically to the infected area.

The problem for me with creams is that the fungus pops uo in places I do not notice and it gets well established before I become aware of it.

What I really need is something I can add to a bath so I can soak my whole body and ensure that I am cobating the fungus everywhere that it emerges.

Any suggestions, my doctor and pharmacist had none.

Bill

Dear Friend,

The herbal approach in a systemic infection would be to take herbs internally that are immune boosting and specifically anti-fungal. See our Anti-Yeast/Fungal Formula has these types of herbs: Echinacea, Usnea, Jewelweed, Spicebush, Black Walnut Hull. A very good topical application that I have seen work when creams and such mostly fail is the combined extracts of Thuja and Calendula: The Thuja is a strong anti-fungal and the Calendula is anti-fungal and promotes new tissue growth.

Thanks,
Bob
