Dear Bob Liebert,
My brother has had glandular fever, which lead to jaundice. He is
still suffering from low energy levels, and picks up colds easily
is there anything he could take to improve the situation?
Rebecca
Dear Friend,
Glandular fever (also known as mononucleosis) can be debilitating
for a long time, leaving the immune system, liver, spleen and other
organs sluggish with low energy and a lack of appetite. Two herbs
that I have seen bring the person back in good order-are the extracts
of Red Root (a spleen tonic) and Wild Cherry Bark (convalescence from
fevers). For his symptoms I would also add Dandelion Root (liver,
jaundice) and Astragalus Root (liver and immune system tonic). Echinacea
extract can be used for first sign of cold and other infections. The
first four herbs can be taken together as a daily tonic.
Thanks,
Bob
You can buy these herbs and many more in the Formula and
Single
Herb sections of the Teeter Creek Herb website. Herbs that don't appear in the Formula or Single Herb lists can usually be requested in the "Message" section at the bottom of the order page.
