Dear Bob Liebert,
My daughter is 18 months and suffers from seborrhoeic eczema. We
have tried olive oil, evening primrose, vit E, aloe vera gel, advocado
oil and various suggestions from our local Doctor like steriod creams
(long term although I am not happy to continue with this.)
In addition to this problem she has sensitive skin and has reacted
to some of the above. I am about to try pure Jojoba oil and Calendula
oil. Pleases let us know of other options internally and externally
as with each flare up she looses hair and sratches to the point of
broken skin.
Byron
Dear Friend,
Herbs for internal use for an infant would include Nettles and Yellow
Dock (particularly suited to dry, irritated skin conditions). Our
Herbal Salve is very good for external use, heals and controls itching
and irritation (Comfrey, Plantain, Chickweed and others). Violet extract
is also good externally. I assume we are speaking of a dry, inflamed
condition, rather than cradle cap, with over-activity of the oil glands.
It is good to look at possible allergic component (milk, wheat, etc.).
Thanks,
Bob
You can buy these herbs and many more in the Formula and
Single
Herb sections of the Teeter Creek Herb website. Herbs that don't appear in the Formula or Single Herb lists can usually be requested in the "Message" section at the bottom of the order page.
